Sure, you can prepare for college by taking tons of tours, finding the right setting for yourself, and buying the perfect bedspread to match that goofy body pillow of yours. But there is nothing that can help better than a good flick. These three will let you know just what you’re getting into…
1) OLDSCHOOL - The movie is a severe exaggeration, but then again it really isn’t about college. It’s all about partying. Which, er… makes it about college! What a paradox. Even if you don’t enjoy the delightful comedic repertoire of Will Ferrell, you’re bound to run into Frank the Tank at your very first house party.
2) ANIMAL HOUSE - A timeless tale. Don’t be one of those morons who stares at the infamous poster on your wall every night before you rest your little head. If you haven’t seen it, you don’t deserve to hang it! Created in the late 70’s, but set in the 60’s, this film has it all: Jim Belushi, a pissed off dean, and it gives you a shocking glimpse into Greek Life. Yes, I realize its 2008. A lot has changed on college campuses in 45 years… or has it?
3) ACCEPTED - Who wouldn’t want a diploma from a school that embraces fecal matter? Besides the comedy, this film has a great overall theme: Going to college isn’t everything. It doesn’t always secure a long-lasting career, it doesn’t always push you as a person to your fullest potential thereby making you a well-rounded individual in society. But it can open your eyes, and hopefully steer you in the direction that is best for you.
