It’s that time of the year when all college students are scrambling to find the best Halloween costume for the upcoming festivities. Halloween night may be a college student’s favorite night of the year by far - Halloween parties at every corner! What more could you want? And this year Halloween falls on a Friday night so get those costumes together and get prepared for some crazy Halloween festivities! Every college has their own fantastic Halloween festivities but there are a select few that are known for these Halloween events. So if you happen to be near to any one of these colleges on October 31st, don’t miss one of the best party nights of the year!
1. Ohio University
Athens, Ohio is top notch at Halloween parties having an estimated 15,000 to 30,000 (crazy!) people attend these festivities each year. The city itself is known for being “the most haunted city in Ohio” which is perfect for this spooky night of partying! Live music and unbelievably creative costumes are just a few of the reasons why this school has one of the most fantastic Halloween nights in the country!

2. UC Santa Barbara
Not as well known for Halloween as Ohio University, but this Halloween night may bring in even more people that OU does! College students travel great distances for Halloween at this college - open house parties and free alcohol are everywhere. The campus police force is raising its weekend number of officers up to 75 this year (25 more than last year) because of Halloween falling on a weekend.

3. East Carolina University
Tens of thousands of people come out to Greenville, NC each year for the abundant amount of Halloween festivities. At times, resembling Mardi Gras, a section of Greenville is blocked off for East Carolina students and other travelers to come out to a huge Halloween celebration. The section of Greenville that is blocked off is lined with many bars - a huge attraction for the college student!
4. Yale University
Known for the creative costumes often including a pun - this ivy league university takes Halloween very seriously. Don’t be fooled by the intelligent stereotype because Yale students definitely know how to join in the Halloween festivities. Everything from liquor-treating to the Yale Symphony Orchestra performance - this college has an amazing celebration each year.

I’m sure UW Madison is a ball, but if its just one street that’s nothing when OU’s city, Athens shuts down completely for it’s Halloween fest.

Last time i checked Madison is wayyyy bigger than Athens and pretty much gets owned by Freak Fest. Wisco definitely takes my vote……..
